Hello all! It’s a glorious fall at LNS. It continues to be a joy to get to know you – and your children – better as we have more opportunities to get together in the classroom and through school activities, such as our Mangia Family Night, Parent Education Seminar on gender stereotypes, and the fabulous Fall Social. With Thanksgiving on the horizon, it’s a great time to spend a few moments appreciating all the hard work we have been putting in to keep LNS running smoothly and put together the fun events like these that help to create our community. Many thanks to all of you!
Heading into November, LNS follows the academic calendar of our local school district in taking off Veterans’ Day and the whole week of Thanksgiving. We also find it extremely worthwhile to send our Directors to the national conference hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), this year held from November 7-10, at which our Directors gain invaluable continuing education, materials, and networking opportunities which they then use to enrich all of our experiences at LNS. For some of us the extra days off in November provide a nice interlude to catch our breath and have some extra home time with the kids; others of us appreciate having some extra activities available to bridge the time off from school. If you have any ideas for fun get togethers during the November holidays please forward those to me or to your class Representative, as it will be of great help as we work to determine what will serve our families best.
LNS will enjoy an especially full December this year, as Winter Break does not begin until Saturday December 22nd! We will all get the chance to enjoy an uninterrupted heart-to-heart with our Director about our kids during the Parent Teacher conferences scheduled December 5-7. Other than that, it’s smooth sailing through LNS until our Winter Break. Then on to the new year!
My best to you all.
